My cousin said that I should find out for myself how the movie was. IT WAS BAD !!
That movie “WANTED” was really sick,
The sense of humor was so toxic,
That I feel like my brain,
Has been flushed down the drain,
And I struggled to write this limerick.
With my enthusiasm renewed,
I had arrived in a chirpy mood,
But now I feel somethings amiss,
I can’t put my finger on what it is,
But Pune seems somewhat subdued.
I know its been just two days into the break,
Adventures await me tomorrow when I wake,
I won’t be sitting here waiting for them to find me,
You will not again have to remind me,
Life is mine, for me to take.
Hi Friends!
As promised, I am placing the slides & notebooks for the Mathematica session here. I have also composed a couple of limericks to go with it :).
It was an attempt to make Mathematics seem more groovy,
And also to make the students Mathematica savvy,
But when the concepts got too deep,
And a couple of students fell asleep,
I thought I shouldn’t have made it so heavy.
I feel that its important to see beyond your scope,
Even if initially it seems difficult to cope,
I admit the content was a little bit dense,
And needed much effort to make sense.
But without raising your engine, you can never climb the slope.
That being said, I would still appreciate any feedback you may have to contribute. Please leave a comment below.
I asked a person in Pune what the symptoms of Swine Flu are. He replied “Fewer”. Now, in a thick and deep Maharashtrian accent, “fever” is pronounced a lot like “fewer”. Knowing this, I asked the person - “Did you mean fever - as in running a high temperature?”.
He said, “No. I meant fewer - as in fewer people.”.
People often wonder how I manage to pull off so many visits to Pune. They even doubt if I am getting more than my fair share of holidays. That cannot possibly be the case. I just would like to go to Pune whenever I get the smallest window of opportunity.
This will explain my position -
My last days in Pune were like a box of sweet,
And from that, a piece a day I’d eat,
I had them one by one,
Till there were left none,
The craving is now hard to defeat.
My love for Pune will forever subsist,
This craving I have shall forever persist,
To treat myself to a simple delight,
I will just hop onto the next flight,
The thought of that I cannot resist.
I have a friend from my college days - Mathew Varghese. He is quite tall. Often, he finds that things were not built keeping tall people in mind - they’re more suited for average dimensions.
Read through the following examples to give you an idea of what life was like for Mathew -
- Mathew could never be seated comfortably in one of the standard college benches. It guess it was most tormenting during exams when he had to sit through the entire duration of the paper.
- Drinking water was available at the water coolers in the college basement. The glasses at the water coolers were tethered by steel chains. Now - the chain obviously wasn’t long enough to let the glass reach Mathew’s mouth. He used to drink water as if he were proposing - on one knee and all.
- Just Baked - A much loved eatery in Pune had an upper floor with a really low ceiling. Since the seating was all in the upper floor, Mathew had no choice but to bend and walk.
- Mathew needed all the space on his motorbike. The entire length of the seat was used up. No space for pillion rider.
- Most girls in the college were lilliputian in comparison.
- Mathew had a huge shoe size. He had to hunt for his shoe size like a mad man.
I’ve collected those funny and awkward situations and put them together in form of this piece right below…If you look - you can also see his name in there (not on the top).
Now we can all imagine what Gulliver felt like! (Click the image twice to see it full size).
